Successful removal and replacement of the first lift for Futures Housing Group

Successful handover of our first turnkey lift replacement for Futures Housing Group at Stephenson Court, Kilsby, Northants.

“The site is a sheltered scheme for the elderly with 30 independent residential units so it was vital the works were completed as smoothly and quickly as possible. A stairlift was available for access but it was important to us to make sure the residents suffered as little disruption as possible” said Daniel Ibbottson – Project Manager

The project is the first of several planned lift replacement projects across the Futures Housing portfolio over the next 7 years. Acting in full CDM capacity, Curti Lifts removed and disposed of an old 13 Person Hydraulic lift and replaced it with a new Curti Classic Passenger Lift, complete with tip up seat. The new lift is also equipped with an electronic ‘smooth rider’ valve which controls the flow of oil and offers maximum comfort comparable to the VVVF controls found in Traction Lifts.

The works, which completed in just under 5 weeks, included all safety considerations such as surveys (asbestos), protective floor coverings, lockable hoardings and safe disposal of the existing equipment as well as the painting/decorating and finishing around the lift.

“How we leave a property is just as important as the quality of the product we supply” added Daniel “that’s why we even clean all the carpets surrounding the lift installation. We want our clients to be completely happy with the service we provide.”

Ian Bonsall – Asset Management for Future Housing said ‘’It’s been a real pleasure working with Curti Lifts on this project. Professional and easy to deal with, they even assisted our residents during the works. I look forward to working with them going forward”

Work has already started on Warwick Court, Daventry, another Futures Housing property. For more information on our Turnkey Lift Replacement Solution contact Daniel Ibbottson
